Preserving Our Past, Planning Our Future

A New Chapter for the Captain Hendry House

Big things are happening for one of LaBelle's most treasured historic landmarks!

On November 20 and 21, we're welcoming a volunteer planning team from the Florida Chapter of the American Planning Association to help develop a long-term vision for the Captain Hendry House.

The team will meet with community stakeholders on Friday, followed by a public meeting on Saturday, November 21, at Barron Library.

We want to hear from you! Come learn about the project, see the ideas taking shape, and help imagine the future of this historic property.

Adding a Little Color to LaBelle

Our Roots & Springs mural project is moving forward! We're proud to be working with the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation, and work is projected to start around November 3rd.

In partnership with Arts of the Inland and with support from the Fort Myers Community Foundation, we're working to bring new public art to the Bridge Street area.

This project celebrates the natural beauty, culture, and history that make LaBelle special.

More Than Events: Building a Better Downtown

While our festivals and markets bring people together, there's a lot happening beyond the event calendar.

We're continuing our work on historic preservation, downtown beautification, supporting local businesses, and building a more vibrant, walkable community.

These projects take time, collaboration, and plenty of community support, but each step brings us closer to the downtown we envision.
