What is LDRC?
The LaBelle Downtown Revitalization Corporation (LDRC) is a Main Street Community dedicated to the beautification and economic growth of our historic downtown.
We believe that a thriving downtown is the heartbeat of a community. Through events, placemaking, and supporting local businesses, we are transforming Downtown LaBelle into a premier destination for residents and visitors alike.
About the Florida Main Street Program
LDRC is an accredited member of the Florida Main Street program, administered by the Florida Department of State's Division of Historical Resources. Florida Main Street is part of a national network of more than 1,200 communities committed to preservation-based economic development and downtown revitalization. Accreditation signifies commitment to comprehensive revitalization, community engagement, and rigorous outcome measurement, and means LaBelle meets national standards set by the National Main Street Center.
The Four-Point Approach
Economic Vitality
Focuses on capital, incentives, and other economic and financial tools to assist new and existing businesses, catalyze property development, and create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and innovators that drive local economies.
Design
Supports a community's transformation by enhancing the physical and visual assets that set the commercial district apart.
Promotion
Positions the downtown or commercial district as the center of the community and hub of economic activity, while creating a positive image that showcases a community's unique characteristics.
Organization
Involves creating a strong foundation for a sustainable revitalization effort, including cultivating partnerships, community involvement, and resources for the district.
A revitalized downtown creates jobs, stabilizes the local tax base, preserves historic resources, and builds community pride, giving everyone in LaBelle a place to gather, grow, and celebrate what makes this community special.
Our Downtown District
The map below shows the boundaries of the LDRC Main Street district, the heart of downtown LaBelle and the area where we focus our revitalization work, programs, events, and projects. While our Main Street boundary aligns closely with the City of LaBelle's official Downtown Business District, these are two separate distinctions. The Downtown Business District is an official City designation. The LDRC Main Street district is the area where our organization directs its energy, investment, and community-building efforts on behalf of downtown LaBelle.
From Barron Park and the Caloosahatchee riverfront to the historic core along Bridge Street and Main Street, this is the district we are committed to strengthening, block by block, business by business, and event by event.
