Old Jail Interpretive Signage

Completed: July 2025

Funded by: Florida Division of Historical Resources, Historic Preservation Small Matching Grant

LDRC was awarded a Historic Preservation Small Matching Grant from the Florida Division of Historical Resources to tell the story of one of LaBelle's earliest landmarks — the original LaBelle jail.

Professionally designed and fabricated by Kaser Design, the interpretive sign was installed in Barron Park at the original jail site in July 2025, with City of LaBelle public works staff donating their time and labor as an in-kind contribution. The project was completed on time and on budget, and adds a permanent piece of LaBelle history for residents and visitors to discover on a walk through the park.
