Children Statues of Downtown
Back to Our Projects
Completed: 2019–2020
To capture the community's strong connection with its youth, LDRC invested $10,700 in playful bronze statues of children placed throughout the downtown district. Visitors can spot a girl and boy reading outside the historic Barron Library, a boy with his frog, and children at play in Barron Park.
The statues were part of a larger beautification push in the same era: with generous donations and community support, LDRC also raised $20,000 to place twenty-five benches and nine trash receptacles throughout the district, making Downtown LaBelle more welcoming, walkable, and full of small moments of delight.
